The Rice University – Jones Graduate School of Business was recently named as the top school for entrepreneurial students by DegreeMatch.

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, which uses the theories of psychologist Carl Jung to understand the differing personalities of individuals, is now renowned for its unique classification of individuals by combining four pairs of traits: intuition/sensing, introversion/extroversion, feeling/thinking and perception/judging. According to the test, all personality types are made up of a combination of these four traits. A recent ranking from DegreeMatch.com sought to find the top small colleges for each personality type that can result from the Myers-Briggs test.

Rice University was ranked as the #1 college for ESTP personality types, that is- extroverted, sensing, thinking and perceptive- a type also known as “the Entrepreneur”.

Degree Match describes the ESTP personality as “people who are smart, perceptive, energetic, bold and original. School can be a challenge for the ESTP learner, not because of a lack of intelligence, but rather their love of learning by doing. This Myers Briggs Personality type is a risk taker and loves to push boundaries.”

Rice University ranks first on a list of thirty schools where an ESTP type would thrive. Among the reasons cited for Rice’s high ranking is the success of the Jones School and the Rice Education Entrepreneurship Program (REEP), which teaches business and entrepreneurship to K-12 school leaders.

According the the website, ESTP’s are naturally born business savvy and have an instinctual ability to negotiate and work with others. Business, entrepreneurship and marketing are among the majors suggested for this personality type.
