The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools (AACSB) has extended accreditation for both undergraduate and graduate programs at the University of St. Thomas – Cameron School of Business.

The Cameron School first achieved accreditation from AACSB in 2011, which has historically represented the highest achievement for business schools across the globe. AACSB International was founded in 1916, and is currently the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools with undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degrees in business/accounting.

Cameron School dean Dr. Beena George commented on the honor, saying that the extension of accreditation for Cameron is a testament to the dedication and quality of students, alumni, faculty and staff at UST.

All schools accredited by the AACSB must undergo a peer review process every five years in order for the accreditation to be extended. Reviewing Cameron, the peer review board cited a number of reasons to extend the accreditation, including the value of the school’s international diversity, the balance between professional development and personal ethics, and the unique nature of the school’s compassionate and caring environment. The peer review board also cited new programs such as the Master of Science in Finance and programs which connect the university to the local community: the MBA in Education for educational professionals and the Master in Clinical Translation Management.

“Regional and specialty accreditations distinguish our university and especially our professional schools from other institutions,” said UST President Dr. Robert Ivany. “On behalf of the entire campus community, I congratulate Dr. George, and her faculty and staff, for receiving a glowing recommendation. All of us recognize that this very favorable review was achieved through a dedication to continuous improvement and a deep caring attitude towards our students.
