Ageno School of Business Professor Named Top Wealth Management Advisor

Golden Gate University

Professor Elissa Buie of Golden Gate University’s Edward S. Ageno School of Business was recently named the Top Wealth Advisor in the country by Washingtonian Magazine.

Buie teaches financial planning to MBAs at the Ageno School, and she also sits on the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for Financial Planning. She is co-founder of wealth management firm Yeske Buie.

Washingtonian staff compile the listing with the use of a peer survey, which is followed up with research, interviews with experts in the field, and information gathered from industry organizations. Buie said, “Every award and recognition is a genuine honor, but to be recognized by your peers feels particularly rewarding.”

Buie has been practicing financial planning for over thirty years. In 2013, she received the prestigious P. Kemp Fain Jr. Award, and she has been named a top advisor by Worth Magazine and Bloomberg Wealth Manager. The Financial Times named Buie as one of the Top 100 Women Financial Advisors in 2014, and in 2015 she was listed on InvestmentNews’ list of the top 20 female advisors in the country.

Professor Buie publishes regularly in the Journal of Financial Planning. She has also served as a conference keynote speaker across the US, and also in Korea, South Africa, Japan and the UK. Buie has been quoted in the Washington Post and Time magazine, and she has appeared on CNBC, NBC News, and the Today show.
