The Executive MBA program at the Southern Methodist University – Cox School of Business recently partnered with Launch Agency to instruct students in business and marketing plans.

Launch, a nationally recognized company which partners with organizations to help launch new brands and “relaunch” mature brands. Students in the EMBA program at SMU Cox recently had the opportunity to attend a class led by the Launch Agency, which hoped to refine the student’s skills in marketing and business concepts.

Launch principals Diane Duncan and Dave Wilgus began the day with a marketing lecture of the process of launching brands both old and new. After, SMU students broke into teams for breakout sessions. Each team paired with a coach from the Launch Agency for twenty minutes to hear ideas and provide feedback. The coaches included Launch Principal Michael Boone, Account Director Jason Giles, Digital Director Alexandra Watson and Associate Creative Director Alex Slotkin.

SMU adjunct professor John Terry commented on the importance of students receiving feedback from professionals in the field:

“Every year students tell me the one-on-one concept feedback is one of their favorite parts of the course. There’s nothing more valuable than having professionals who live and breathe brand launches sit with our students and talk through their ideas and help guide them to success.”

The partnership between SMU Cox and the Launch Agency is understandable given the extreme success of both organizations. The EMBA program at Cox was launched in 1976, and was recently ranked as the third best EMBA program in the world by Bloomberg Businessweek. Launch has been named as one of the fastest growing businesses in the United States by Inc. Magazine and is currently one of the largest agencies in Dallas Fort Worth.
