Ashridge Business School Announces New Center for Disruptive Innovation

Ashridge Business School has announced the opening of its 7th research institute, The Center for Disruptive Innovation, (CDI) at the Hult International Business School’s (Hult-Ashridge’s) San Francisco campus. This location currently offers a Masters of International Business, a Global One-Year MBA, and rotations for the Masters of International Finance and Marketing degrees.

The CDI joins the centers for Leadership, Business & Sustainability, Strategic Management, Research in Executive Education, Coaching, and Action Research, all of which are located at the Ashridge Estate campus outside London.

CDI’s opening falls in line with Ashridge-Hult’s aim to globalize research capabilites, and to further tap in to the climate of innovation in the San Francisco Bay area. Professor Vicki Culpin, Global Dean of Research, remarked, “This new research center in San Francisco marks a move to align the global nature of the school with that of the research institute and is an important step forward in our mission.”

Her recent research includes a study on the effects of poor sleep habits among workers on the function of organizations, which she presented at the World Economic Forum in Geneva, Switzerland.

Studies in such areas as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, the sharing economy, and wearable technology will be developed and shared at CDI, and global fellows will be chosen to participate in their dissemination to the global academic community.

The leaders of the CDI intend to partner with multinational companies such as Ferrari, Autodesk, Visa, and British Telecom in order to both inform these companies’ organizational functions and to foster knowledge exchange with Hult-Ashridge students.
