The BIGGEST gathering of Canada’s entrepreneurs, innovators, and policy makers is coming May 5, 2016. Startup Canada Day on the Hill is a once-in-a-lifetime conference overlooking the iconic Parliament Hill. Participants will be able to meet and shake hands with over 1,500 of Canada’s top entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, politicians, and government decision-makers.
Those who attend Startup Canada Day on the Hill will walk away with cutting-edge insights from individuals working to transform Canada into a nation of the future. The day begins with a Warm-Up Show with Dr. Sean Wise. He’ll speak about the question, “Can Entrepreneurship be Taught?” He’ll be followed by the event Emcee, Catherine Clark and then the Hon. Bill Morneau, the Minister of Finance.
The event will include multiple Keynote speakers:
- Allen Lau, Co-Founder & CEO of WattPad, will share his entrepreneurial journey as a newcomer to Canada. He’ll also share his vision for Canada as a nation of entrepreneurial citizens.
- Waneek Horn-Miller, Gold Medal Olympian and Manitobah Mukluks Ambassador, will speak about Canada’s Aboriginal culture and share her vision for Indigenous culture and entrepreneurship.
- Jonathan Ortmans, President of Global Entrepreneurship Week, will share his best practices from across the world as well as his top learnings and recommendations for Canada’s Innovation Strategy.
- Sarah Prevette, Co-Founder of Future Design School, will speak about her vision for what Canada needs to do to empower youth innovation through design methods and entrepreneurial experience.
- Robert Deluce, Founder and CEO of Porter Airlines, will be the final Keynote speaker and will share his recommendations for Canada’s Innovation Strategy.
