Seattle Entrepreneurs Can Attend Startup Weekend in June
Coming June 24th through 26th, Seattle business entrepreneurs, students and leaders will have the opportunity to attend Startup Weekend: A Touch of the Future. The event will bring together top business coaches and leaders in a three-day business sprint to create a brilliant startup idea.
This year, the focus of the weekend is the future. Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality are just a few of the new technologies that are changing the future. During the weekend, attendees will have an opportunity to explore these futuristic technologies in startup ideas.
At the event, anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Then, teams form around the top ideas, and a three-day journey begins with model creation, coding, designing and market validation. The weekend ends with presentations in front of local entrepreneur leaders and the opportunity for critical feedback.
The event starts Friday evening, June 24th, with a dinner and networking event. Attendees can practice their startup pitches, meet fellow participants and share ideas with those in the know. Then, James Whittaker of Microsoft will kick off his keynote, opening it up to attendees to share their pitch ideas.
On Saturday, participants arrive at 9 a.m. for a simple breakfast and then form teams to work together on their startup idea throughout the remainder of the day. Teams will have an opportunity to receive one-on-one help from coaches. Finally, on Sunday, the teams will present their startup ideas and receive feedback and awards.
The event is powered by Google for Entrepreneurs and offers attendees a crash course in creating a startup. Students at Albers School of Business and Economics at Seattle University can contact Yan Tang to learn more about the event and meet up with other students who could be attending.
Tickets are available now on the event website.
