Drucker School MBA Alum Appointed CFO of LA Youth Advocacy Agency
A Claremont Graduate University’s Drucker School of Management MBA alum has been named chief financial officer of Hillsides, a Los Angeles charity which places children into foster care.
Dan Braun’s career has shown the strength of social impact in various forms. Prior to joining Hillsides, he was chief financial officer for Five Acres, an Altadena, CA residential mental health agency for kids. During his tenure there, he was responsible for managing $30 million in government contracts to support the agency’s mission. He has also served in finance roles for child welfare organizations in Los Angeles and Pasadena.
Hillsides’ chief executive officer, Joseph M. Costa, said of Braun,
“He brings almost 30 years of experience to the position and also many years working in the nonprofit field. With our recent affiliation with another respected child welfare agency, Bienvenidos, Dan comes to us at a very exciting time of expansion and will shepherd the financial roll out of our new alliance. He will also play a key role in our $12 million capital improvement project of our Pasadena campus, which we are in the final phases of funding…. I am thrilled to welcome [him] onto our leadership team.”
Hillsides serves 13,000 children and families in the Los Angeles area, over 35 different sites, with school-based programs in Pasadena, LA, and Baldwin Park. The organization operates in tandem with Bienvenidos to promote safe environments in which children can live and attend school.
