Gupta College MBA Alumni Named Top 40 Under 40 in Dallas
Jennifer Chandler, 2004 MBA graduate from the University of Dallas – Satish and Yasmin Gupta College of Business was recently named as a “Top 40 Under 40” by the Dallas Business Journal.
Working at Dallas’ Skyline High School after college graduation, Jennifer Chandler was passionate about education but knew that she would have to earn a master’s degree in order to get her teaching certification. With the decision to return to school, Chandler knew she had the opportunity for a fresh start and chose to pursue an MBA in financial services.
Although Chandler was nervous about such an extreme industry change, the personalized support provided by UD helped put her at ease. “While I loved my undergraduate experience, I could immediately tell UD was going to be different,” she said.
Chandler explains that the skills she learned during her time at UD were integral to her success in the finance industry. “Everything I learned at night could be immediately applied at work the following day,” she said. “The small class sizes allowed each professor to be easily accessible making the overall experience far more personalized.”
Since her graduation from UD in 2004, Jennifer Chandler has become a true leader in Dallas, joining several nonprofit boards and making a firm commitment to community impact. For her contributions to the city of Dallas, Chandler has received a number of distinctions, including mentions in D Magazine, Leadership Dallas, and the Dallas Business Journal’s 2016 Top 40 Under 40 list.
For graduates just getting started, Chandler offers the following advice as a roadmap for success: “As a young professional, it is critical to pick up more responsibilities, add value and take opportunities to show your leadership abilities.”
