On November 18th of this year, the Texas A&M University – Commerce College of Business (TAMUC) will host the 3rd annual Lions Innovation showcase on TAMUC’s main campus.
Held annually toward the end of the fall and spring semesters, the Lions Innovation Showcase is intended to give students, faculty and staff in the Commerce community a chance to display their creativity and innovation. Participants may be involved in the showcase through their own individual initiatives or through involvement in class and university organizations.
The Lions Innovation Showcase hopes not only to recognize the innovative spirit and talent within the TAMUC community, but also to create a community that rewards creativity and risk-taking. This goal is echoed in the university’s mission and values of “ceaseless industry, fearless investigation, unfettered thought and unselfish service to others through integrity, innovation and imagination.”
Participants in the Lions Innovation Showcase will have the opportunity to win cash prizes within distinct categories such as general product and service sales, business plans, technology-related creativity/innovation, culinary creativity, art design/creation and artistic performance. Overall, the showcase will award $6,000 in cash prizes, with $500 1st-place awards in each category.
As evidenced from the categories, participants can engage in the showcase in a number of ways and display a variety of talents. From art students selling their artwork to business students offering a new product or service for sale, the showcase will provide a venue for students across the university to display their skills and share their innovation with the community.
