Rice Energy Finance Summit to Examine the Changing Energy Market
On November 4th, the Rice University – Jones Graduate School of Business will host the 2016 Rice Energy Finance Summit, on the topic of “Energy Outlook: Navigating Changes in an Evolving Market”.
The event will be hosted by a committee of MBA candidates at the Rice Business School and feature a number of speakers from leadership roles in the energy industry. Among the speakers will be: Vicki Hollub, president/CEO of Occidental Petroleum, Ali Moshiri, president of Chevron Africa and Latin America Exploration and Production Co., Jeremy Thigpen, president/CEO of Transocean, Rob Franklin, president of ExxonMobil Gas and Power Marketing Co., and executive vice president of midstream at Phillips 66, Robert Herman. Jones released a statement from H. Joe Nelson III Professor of Management Bill Glick, Ph.D., who spoke about the upcoming event. He noted, “thought Leadership drives individuals, companies, and industries to think differently about how to do business. It drives changes in behavior, creates new opportunities, inspires decisive action, motivates excellence, and represents the best of leaders.”
The event will also include a welcome address from Dean Peter Rodriguez and the opportunity for networking over coffee. With a full itinerary for the day, breakfast, lunch and a cocktail hour are also included in the day’s events.
The first Rice Energy Finance Summit was held in 2009, created with the goal of promoting forward-looking dialogues on current issues within the energy industry. The event also hopes to foster relationships through the sharing of knowledge and ideas. The summit allows both companies and individuals within the industry to be directly involved with the community’s growth.
The event will take place on November 4th from 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. in Rice University’s McNair Hall’s Shell Auditorium, and is open to the public with ticket prices ranging from $40 to $95. Registration spots to present at the event are still available.
