Top Toronto Marketing MBA

Three Canadian MBA programs made it onto the Economist full-time MBA ranking for 2016. And out of those three programs, two are Toronto Schools: the Schulich School of Business at York University and the Ivey Business School at Western University (ranking 56th and 59th respectively).

The Economist Ranking Methodology

In total, 143 MBA programs were invited to participate in The Economist ranking. Out of those invited, only the top 100 were published based on their results. The methodology for the ranking is 20 percent survey and 80 percent quantitative data.

The survey was sent to current MBA students as well as recent alumni. It was concerned with such information as quality of faculty, facilities and career services as well as the educational experience. The 80 percent quantitative data was made up of information such as the salary of graduates, the average GMAT scores of students, and the ratio of faculty to students.

All data received by The Economist was reviewed for veracity and, when possible, it was cross-checked with historical data as well as other published sources. Overall, the ranking was weighted 35 percent new career opportunities, 35 percent personal development and educational experience, 20 percent increase in salary and 10 percent potential to network.

Schulich School of Business #56

Coming it at number 56, the Schulich School was the top-ranked MBA program in Canada. It ranked most highly in the diversity of its recruiters (ranking 3rd in the world), internationalism of alumni (5th in the world), the percentage of graduates who found jobs through career services (9th in the world), and percentage increase on pre-MBA salary (9th in the world).
