Successful Carey Alumni Join to Form Dean’s Alumni Advisory Board

advisory board

Sometimes, a little advice is nice, even if you are the top-dog of a top-notch business school. Formed in 2008, the Carey Business School Dean’s Alumni Advisory Board at Johns Hopkins was created to provide advice to dean Bernard Ferrari on key alumni issues. Known as the DAAB, the board is composed of more than two dozen individuals who represent the diverse Carey Business community.

Carey alum Jeri Fellerman, MS’ 99, has been a standout success in the commercial banking industry. For the better part of 26 years Fellerman has taken leadership roles with Wells Fargo Bank, SunTrust Bank, Bank of America and Riggs Bank, as well as her current role as senior vice president and commercial banking team leader with EagleBank. She is also part of the DAAB and has served as chair for the past three years, but is slated to relinquish her reigns.

“The DAAB’s purpose is to provide connectivity between the school and our alumni,” she says. “I think people are very proud they graduated from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, so our mission is to reach out to all of those alumni and get them engaged.”

DAAB is planning to roll out a new strategic plan and hopes to increase the level of engagement Carey alumni have with the school. The board has also made strides in connecting the school’s international community, establishing regional alumni clubs in Beijing, Shanghai, the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City.

“Forming regional clubs and gaining a nucleus of people that want to maintain their identity with Johns Hopkins and Carey furthers that mission of engagement,” Andy Klein, MBA ‘02, said. He is set to take over for Fellerman as DAAB chair.
