UCLA Anderson Partners with The Hartford for New Research on Small Business

UCLA Anderson

The UCLA Anderson School of Management has announced a partnership that will empower MBAs seeking a future in entrepreneurship.

The school’s venerable business forecasting publication, The UCLA Anderson Forecast has united with The Hartford in a research effort that will stimulate the future of new small businesses.

“Having a partnership with this preeminent research team … will help us better understand and serve our one million small business customers. The health of small businesses in America is an important issue for our company and the nation’s economy,” notes Stephanie Bush, executive vice president of the Small Commercial insurance division at the Hartford.

The Hartford, which specializes in property and casualty insurance, mutual funds and group benefits, offers a multitude of services to entrepreneurs. The partnership with the UCLA Anderson Forecast will propel the organization to the forefront of research—and will benefit students and the public as a whole in providing valuable information in the new realm that has emerged in the US economy.

Alfred E. Osborne, Jr., senior associate dean, professor and faculty director of The Harold and Pauline Price Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at UCLA Anderson said, “We are proud to collaborate with The Hartford on this initiative that further reinforces the endeavors of the UCLA Anderson Forecast and its understanding of entrepreneurship and the determinants of small business success.”

The partnership between UCLA Anderson and the Connecticut company comes after five years of studies from the Hartford Small Business Success Study. The new deal was officially announced at the end of September by the 200-year-plus year-old company, further helping the development and study of small business patterns.
