The Sellinger School of Business recently announced that it will host four Executive Education seminars this spring to help mid-level professionals develop business skills that benefit their organizations and progress their careers.These Executive Education seminars “address the professional development needs of Baltimore’s business community and improve the job performance and immediate potential of participants.” Each seminar consists of four three-hour sessions held on Loyola’s campuses or off-site locations over the course of two weeks. Early registration discounts are available up to one month prior to the start of each seminar.
The following seminars are available this spring:
- High Impact Leadership: This seminar offer professionals seeking higher positions of responsibility and accountability the skills to solve problems, lead change and maximize personal and organizational effectiveness. Led by, Ed Rothstein, former garrison commander at Fort Meade in Maryland and founder of ERA Advisory, these sessions will take place on Feb. 21, 23 and 28 and March 2.
- Innovating for Competitive Advantage: This seminar equip managers with a data-driven approach for creating and maintaining a competitive advantage through innovation and continuous improvement. Gerard Athaide, Ph.D., professor and department chair of marketing will lead this seminars by using a mix of brief lectures, discussions, videos, and case studies. Sessions will be held on March 21, 23, 28 and 30.
- Finance and Accounting for Business Leadership: This seminar help non-financial participants develop an understanding of terms and techniques used in managerial accounting and financial analysis. Jalal Soroosh, Ph.D., professor of accounting, and Mark Johnson, Ph.D., associate professor of finance at Sellinger, will lead the sessions, which take place on April 18, 20, 25 and 27.
- Effective Strategic Planning and Implementation: This seminar provides an interactive format to develop leadership skills in order to optimize strategic implementation. Led by Mark Hubbard, J.D., MBA ’97, an affiliate assistant professor at Sellinger, attorney and strategic management expert, this session will take place on May 9, 11, 16 and 18.
According to Selinger, Executive Education seminars are designed for managers with eight or more years of experience seeking promotion to higher level management and director positions. The non-degree program will help participants network with other professionals in the region and expand leadership acumen through personal and group outcomes.
