Cameron Alum Kelly Bosworth Honored as Rising Star
Kelly Bosworth, MBA ’08 at the University of St. Thomas – Cameron School of Business, was recently awarded the Rising Star Award during the fourth annual Rock the Block party at CSB.
More than 200 guests were present at the Rock the Block party, a CSB alumni social event, to witness Ms. Bosworth presented with the Rising Star Award from Dean Dr. Beena Georgia and CSB Alumni Board President Zain Hussain.
Kelly Bosworth was chosen for her extended connection with Cameron in addition to her long-term achievements at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Earning a five-year Bachelor of Business Administration and MBA at UST, Bosworth secured a job at PricewaterhouseCoopers directly following graduation. She quickly rose to the role of manager in assurance, all the while actively continuing her involvement at UST as President of the Cameron School of Business Alumni Board from 2012-13. From 2012-16, she also served on the general UST Alumni Association Board of Directors and Development Committee of the Alumni Board. Going even further, she volunteered on the Two Saints and a Taco Committee, raising funds for UST Student Scholarships.
“The further I got from the classroom, the more I understood what I was really learning while I was studying at UST in pursuit of my MBA degree,” Bosworth commented on her continued involvement with her alma mater. “Investing in the tradition of giving back to my UST community provides perspective and opportunity that was not visible while focusing on my studies.”
According to Bosworth, the education she received earning an MBA at Cameron has been crucial for her career growth at PwC. Now living in California, she sent a video message to play at the event in response to the honor. In the video, she urged other students to find their own ways to give back to Cameron. ” … be a mentor, attend events like Rock the Block, or come back to the classroom during Alumni Week. For me the opportunity to listen to and help another student was as rewarding as receiving this award tonight.”
