According to a press release from the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, DePaul University’s Weekend MBA will be moving to the university’s Loop Campus this fall. The program is designed for working professionals whose travel schedules and other work/life responsibilities make it difficult to attend weekday classes.The Loop Campus is located in the heart of Downtown Chicago’s bustling business district. The campus is home to DePaul’s College of Business, College of Law, School for New Learning, College of Communication and College of Computing and Digital Media.
In a statement issued by UIC, Christa Hinton, Assistant Dean and Director of the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business said;
“More professionals are living and working in or near downtown Chicago. Offering the program on our Loop Campus rather than at the university’s northwest suburban location addresses the increasing interest among prospective students to attend classes downtown.”
According to DePaul, the two-year Weekend MBA program is designed for working professionals who have at least two years of work experience. Starting this September, classes will meet two Saturdays a month on DePaul’s new campus, with online coursework between class sessions.
Kristen Justus, an alumnae of the DePaul Weekend MBA, says that program encourages teamwork creates a strong network of alumni support for students after they graduate.
“We’re always consulting with each other about career challenges we face,” Justus said. “For example, I rely on [one of my classmates] a lot for just understanding the challenges of being a woman within the corporate arena and how to manage my career.”
