For those looking to pursue an MBA at Texas A&M University, we’ve listed the McCombs scholarships you need to know.
With a fantastic combination of hands-on learning opportunities and the many possibilities available in a city like Austin, Texas, its understandable why so many students choose to pursue their MBA at the McCombs School of Business. Even more so when you consider these McCombs scholarships:
Consortium Fellowships and Scholarships
As a long-standing member of the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, the McCombs School of Business awards merit-based fellowships to African Americans, Native Americans, Hispanics and any student who demonstrates a commitment to the Consortium’s mission. Candidates who are admitted to a Consortium MBA program will compete for full-tuition scholarships.
Students interested in applying for a Consortium fellowship also do not need to submit a separate application for the Texas MBA program—simply applying for the fellowship will be accepted for admission purposes for the Texas MBA.
Forté Fellowship
The Forté Foundation, an organization dedicated to advancing women in the business community, selects incoming MBA candidates each fall for a Forté Fellowship Award. Selected women will be eligible for financial benefits as well as additional access to networking and leadership opportunities within the Forté community. The ideal candidates demonstrate extraordinary leadership in a number of ways, whether community, creative, academic or team leadership.
International Assistance
There are many McCombs scholarships available to international MBA students. Opportunities like the Sylff Global Fellows Program aim to increase the global diversity of the Texas MBA by offering assistance to qualified students around the world. International applicants will be automatically considered for the fellowship upon application. Also available to international students is Tuition Assistance for Mexican Students, a competitive program which provides assistance to Mexicans students demonstrating financial need. Additionally, the Good Neighbor Scholarship provides a year of free tuition to students born in and residents of a nation in the Western Hemisphere, excluding the U.S. and Canada.
Reaching Out
The Reaching Out LGBTQA MBA Fellowship offers $10,000 per academic year to LGBTQA students and active allies while they are pursuing an MBA. The Reaching Out scholarship is awarded to exceptional applicants who show a commitment to advancing a diverse and inclusive school/work environment and to increasing the number of LGBTQA leaders in the business community.
Texas Venture Labs Scholarship
The Jon Brumley Texas Venture Labs is an organization with the mission of advancing innovation and entrepreneurship, and one way they pursues this mission is through the the Texas Venture Labs Scholarship Competition. This program, available to entrepreneurial students pursuing a business education, awards $10,000 per year to one incoming McCombs student. The winner will also have access continued support for their company from the VPL. Runners up for the scholarship also have the chance to secure a scholarship of $2,000 per year.
Additional Scholarships
Students applying to McCombs also have general University of Texas scholarships and private assistance opportunities available to them. From November to April 1 each year, the Office of Student Financial Services (OSFS) reviews applications for general scholarships. Students can also search for available private scholarships through the school’s website here.
