Cranfield School of Management Energy MBA Arriving In September

Cranfield Energy MBA

Starting this September, the Cranfield School of Management will welcome its first class of students for their new MBA in Energy program. The program will combine business education and energy and power—two of the university’s strengths—to enable MBA students to capitalize on the rapidly changing and expanding energy industry.

As for why this program is so important, Dr. Stephanie Hussels, the Director of the MBA program, said in a press release: “In 2015, 12 percent of MBA graduates went into the energy sector, the highest proportion among all European schools surveyed by FIND MBA. Given Cranfield’s expertise in energy and our globally recognized MBA, it was the logical decision to offer a program that will develop future leaders specifically for the energy industry.”

For Cranfield, in particular, the program makes a lot of sense. The school is home to some of Europe’s leading-edge energy and power technology including industrial-scale facilities such as the ocean system laboratory, gas turbine plant, anaerobic digestion plant, and high-temperature coating test facilities. All of these make Cranfield an ideal school for energy research and learning.

The MBA in Energy is a one-year (13-month) full-time program. It’s designed for professionals with at least three years of work experience and is especially suited for individuals who:

  • Desire a real-world business education based on learning in real business situations.
  • Enjoy collaboration, intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence.
  • Want to become better leaders and team players.
  • Are interested in the energy sector.

Professor Feargal Brennan, the Director of Energy and Power and Cranfield, explained: “The energy sector faces an exciting time over the coming decades as we transition to a new generation of clean, reliable and sustainable power. Joining forces with the world-renowned Cranfield School of Management to train future energy leaders through the new Energy MBA makes perfect sense, and will provide our graduates with an unrivaled career advantage in this global marketplace.”

The program is now accepting applications for its inaugural class of MBA students. Accepted applicants can expect to receive valuable insight into the global energy landscape and the challenges it faces. To learn more about the Energy MBA and to apply, visit the website.
