Randy Paulson, an MBA alum from the University of Dallas – Satish and Yasmin Gupta College of Business, will help empower future business leaders through his generous gift supporting the Paulson Financial Markets Lab.
The gift from Paulson, MBA ’81, and his wife will help bring new technology to Gupta College, including a Bloomberg Terminal in the newly named Randy and Judy Paulson Financial Markets Lab. With the addition of the Bloomberg Terminals, Paulson hopes future business students will have greater opportunities to explore their interest and education in finance and investments.
The driving factor in Paulson’s support of Gupta College was his own experience in the MBA program.
“The experience I got from the MBA program was unbelievable,” he said in a recent interview. “It was very hands on. This research lab will give future students the ability to apply strategic thinking to how businesses are run in order to make investing decisions.”
Paulson has been putting his MBA skills to work ever since his graduation from Gupta in the early ’80s. After earning his degree, Gupta continued in the field of real estate management, and by 1988 was managing more than 6,000 employees while running the largest real estate management organization in the U.S. Throughout the ’90s, Paulson served as president and CEO for five publicly traded multifamily and office real estate investment trusts. Since 2002, he has served as chief operating officer at Professional Apartment Services (PAS), where sales have grown 800 percent under his leadership. Randy’s wife, Judy, has also been an integral part of his life and business success.
