The University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business has officially named nine new appointees to its Board of Advisors. Each new advisor began their three-year term on July 1, 2017, according to a recent press release from the school.
The new members join a board charged with helping shape UMD Smith’s strategic directions and strengthen community partnerships. According to the school, the stated mission is to “enhance the Smith School brand through advice and action.”
University of Maryland and UMD Smith graduates are among the new advisors:
- Lisa Anders MBA ’95, VP for Business Development, McKissack & McKissack
- Jason Cohen ’96, CEO & Founder, Halen Brands, Inc.
- Kimberly Ellison-Taylor, Chairman, American Institute of CPAs, and Global Accounting Strategy Director, Oracle Corporation
- Laura Freitag ’88, Partner, EY
- Nina R. Mitchell ’81, Partner, Bridgewater Wealth
- Nicole Pollard ’91, Office of General Counsel, National Education Association
- Kathryn Stewart, Managing Director, Cranbrook Capital
Two of the newest advisors were former UMD Smith MBA students:
- Göran Espelund MBA ’87, Chairman of the Board, Lannebo Fonder
- Wendy Sanhai-Madar MBA ’09, Federal Strategy & Operations, Deloitte Consulting
Also joining the board are Andrea Brody ’87, Chief Marketing Officer of BravoSolution, and Tony Washington, MBA ’89, Senior Vice President of FHA Multifamily Lending, EagleBank. Both are representatives of the Alumni Chapter Board.
Two members were also added to the newly formed Young Alumni Council: Khalil Pettus ’15, an Investment Banking Analyst with Goldman Sachs, and Ali Von Paris ’12, Founder and CEO of Route One Apparel.
