Celt Consulting Projects at Cameron Provide Hands-On Experience for Students

Celt Consulting

Through the Celt Consulting Projects, students at the University of St. Thomas – Cameron School of Business are given the opportunity to gain hands-on experience as consultants to a variety of organizations, assisting with business challenges in real time.

The Celt Consulting Projects, CCP@CSB, allow students in both undergraduate and graduate classes to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world business problems by acting as consultants to a variety of industries and non-profit organizations. And students aren’t the only ones who may benefit fro the program. The hands-on experience gained by students can be turned into real solutions and recommendations that companies can use to address challenges they’ve encountered.

Professional participants in the program were consistently impressed with the quality of the consultation received from the Cameron students. “I have a lot of experience volunteering with Houston universities,” said Kirk Coburn, an professional in the oil and gas industry with a background in startup companies. “Cameron students bring an amazing passion and curiosity to their work. My experience was superior results on consultations.”

Other professionals, like Faisal H. Aboul-Enein, benefited from the program through access to such talented thinkers. “The experience helped give MBA students a chance to perform real work analyses,” said Aboul-Enein, who serves as Director of Board Relations & Strategic Initiatives and Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Center for Healthcare Innovations. “Better yet, the consultation benefited me because I got a talent pool of creative thinkers.” Aboul-Enein also commented how impressive it was to witness students take on this work in a startup environment, where they have no blueprints to follow.

Although consulting projects have concluded for the year, they will continue in the upcoming fall semester. You can read about previous consulting projects here.
