The Public Accounting Report recently named the accounting program at the Texas A&M University – Mays Business School among the ten best in the United States.
The undergraduate and doctoral accounting programs were ranked the 9th best in the U.S., while the master’s program ranked 10th overall.
Rankings from the Public Accounting Report are the among most commonly cited ranking among accounting programs. The ranking remains the only survey each year that allows faculty at accounting programs throughout the country evaluate each program and determine which are most successful. Typically, more than 200 universities are included in the survey.
“I was delighted that our programs were all ranked in the top 10 nationally by the Public Accounting Report,” said Deloitte Foundation Leadership Professor and Accounting Department Head at Mays, James Benjamin. “Texas A&M was one of only five schools to rank in the top for bachelors, masters, and Ph.D. programs. I believe that our ranking reflects the combination of high-quality students, a unique culture, dedicated faculty, and innovative programs.”
The Department of Accounting at Mays is designed to foster creativity and innovation as well as encourage close relationships between students and faculty. There are a number of ways accounting students can get involved in the department, with an available BBA, MS, or Ph.D. in Accounting, or through the Professional Program, which allows students to simultaneously earn a BBA in Accounting and M.S. in any one of the business majors. The MBA program at Mays also offers additional opportunities to pursue an education focused in finance, with the option to specialize one’s degree in a number of academic tracks, such as data analytics and finance among others.
