Ivey EMBA Alum Linda Hasenfratz Named Business Leader of the Year

EMBA alum Linda Hasenfratz from the Ivey Business School at Western University Canada was recently announced as the winner of this year’s Ivey Business Leader of the Year award.

Hasenfratz, who earned her EMBA from Ivey in 1997, was presented with the award at an October 19 gala dinner with some of the top business leaders in Toronto. This latest award is just one among many honors Hasenfratz has received throughout her career, including the 2014 National Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Canada and Induction into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame.

Currently, Hasenfratz serves as the Chief Executive Officer of global auto parts compay Linamer. Throughout her long career, she has become known for her leadership in the manufacturing industry and a continued commitment to her alma mater, serving as a consultant at the Lawrence National Centre for Policy and Management’s Future of Manufacturing project and Advisory Board member at the school.

Hasenfratz has also been commended for her work in advancing the role of women in business. Her latest initiative, a $5 million project that will provide 10 scholarships to female students earning a dual engineering and business degrees.

“Linda Hasenfratz is an outstanding business leader,” Ivey Business School Dean Mark Vandenbosch said. “She has demonstrated discipline, strategic thinking, and creativity. Linda exemplifies the type of leadership we embrace at Ivey.”

The award was officially presented to Hasenfratz at a black-tie gala that took place this October 19 at the Ritz-Carlton in Toronto. Funds raised from the annual gala help support HBA and MBA students through the Ivey Fund Scholars Program.
