McCombs Ranked 16th in Worldwide Programs Ranking

McCombs School of Business - University of Texas at Austin

The McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin was just ranked as the 16th MBA Program worldwide in América Economía’s (AE) list of full-time MBA programs that offer particular appeal and relevance to Latin American MBA candidates. The McCombs MBA program was ranked seventh amongst US schools. This is the fourth consecutive year that McCombs has ranked both in the top 20 internationally and top 10 domestically in the AE list of programs that offer particular appeal to Latin American candidates.

Harvard Business School, The Haas School of Business at the University of California – Berkeley, and IESE Business School took the top three places in the 2015 rankings. Forty international programs were considered for the AE list this year, with a slight majority of all programs located in the United States.

América Economía ranks the top programs based on student selectivity (25 percent); academics and faculty prestige (25 percent); the strength of Latin American representation amongst the business school’s student body, network, connections, and faculty (30 percent); and a cost/benefit analysis of the school’s offerings (20 percent). Because the ranking is intended for Latin American businesspeople who want to earn an MBA in a foreign country but plan to return to their home country/region to conduct business, the strength of a school’s connections to Latin America receives special consideration in the rankings.

AE is seen as the most influential business magazine in Latin America (outside of Mexico), with over 327,000 readers and 700,000 unique online visits per month. The magazine operates in 19 Latin American countries.  The magazine has been published for 29 years and began ranking global MBA programs in 2001.
