D’Amore-McKim Offers MS in Innovation

The D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University offers students the opportunity to pursue a career in innovation through its Masters of Science in Innovation program. The MS in Innovation program is a one-year specialized masters program that is aimed to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to move in to leadership roles in the future. Students in the program will learn the fundamentals of innovation in business through class projects, case studies and real-world application at their own organization.

The MS in Innovation program at D’Amore-McKim is a part-time program that was designed for working professionals. Students spend an intensive year focusing on technology and entrepreneurship through courses that are tailored to innovation in a corporate setting and business innovation. Students in the program will learn to identify business opportunities and how to work within and out of their corporation to maximize their potential as leaders.

Courses for the program are held in a cohort style, with courses offered every other Saturday on the Northeastern main campus. The average class size for the program is 23 students with 35 percent of the students being female. Twenty-six percent of the students are considered to be under-represented minorities. Students in the program have an average work experience of nine years. Most students in the program have undergraduate majors in engineering, computer science, finance and business. Curriculum for the program is comprised of 10 courses or 30 semester hours.

Course offerings include courses in executive leadership and enterprise growth, next generation and product systems, planning and budgeting, marketing and leading and implementing innovation.

Classes for the program begin in September. The next application deadline for the MS in Innovation program is November 1, 2015. To apply, student must complete an online application and submit a $100 application fee.
