The first year of the MBA program is dedicated to taking core classes that cover such foundational topics as Economics and Business Statistics, Managing Financial Resources, Marketing, Operations Management, and more. Students will take two required classes in the second year—Business, Government and the Global Environment, and Strategic Management—as well as eight electives. Six specializations are available in the program, including: Accounting and Financial Management Services; Finance; Health Services Management; Strategic Business Valuation; Strategic Marketing; and Data Analytics.

Tuition, Scholarships, and Financial Aid
The 2020-2021 McMaster University full-time MBA degree tuition for the entire program is between $38,500 total for Canadian citizens or landed immigrants and $82,000 for international students. These figures include tuition, fees, and the mandatory enrollment fee in the GSA Health Plan (subject to change annually). There are a variety of financial aid opportunities through McMaster, including scholarships and loans. Scholarships are available for full-time, co-op, and accelerated program students.
The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) provides students with financial aid to help pay for education-related expenses such as tuition, books, compulsory fees, transportation, and living costs; it is available to Canadian citizens and landed immigrants who are residents of Ontario.
Unfortunately, visa students are not eligible, though they may be able to obtain out of province or out of country student loan assistance. McMaster’s Student Financial Aid and Scholarships (SFAS) office administer these programs on behalf of the government. It generally takes 4-6 weeks for OSAP applications to be processed.
Students may also be able to apply for a bursary, which is a grant that they won’t need to repay. These are available for new and returning students. They are available to students who have also received OSAP or the equivalent for out-of-province students.
