UT Arlington Fall 2015 Commencement Features Business Leader Jeanne Smith

Jeanne Smith, partner of the Tax and Strategic Business Services division at Weaver, served as the speaker for UT Arlington College of Business’ Fall 2015 Commencement.

The commencement ceremony, which took place on December 19th at the College Park Center, included roughly 1,000 participants receiving either their bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degrees. The Fall 2015 Commencement included graduates from both the summer and fall semester of this year.

Jeanne Smith, CPA, CGMA, has more than three decades of experience working in the public accounting field, 30 of those years spent with Weaver, an award-winning local tax firm. She has focused on tax consulting and compliance for businesses as well as the owners of the business, and brings specialized experience in industries such as manufacturing, hospitality, real estate, retail and professional services.

A highly sought-after speaker on tax matters, Smith is an active member of several organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Society of Women Accountants and Financial Executives International. She additionally serves on the finance committee for the Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains.

Smith is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington, having earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She was also a recipient of the College of Business Dean’s Award for Extraordinary Service.
