Mount Saint Mary’s University, Los Angeles
History
Founded in 1925, Mount Saint Mary’s University, Los Angeles, has been offering graduate degrees since 1932. The Graduate Division of Mount Saint Mary’s offers advanced degree programs in Business, Education, Psychology, Religious Studies, Humanities, Nursing, Film & Television, Creative Writing, Health Policy & Management, and Physical Therapy. In 2008, the university began offering MBA degrees. The school is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
Location(s)
MBA classes take place on the Doheny Campus, which is just south of Downtown Los Angeles. The campus is centrally located around many of the city’s notable buildings and districts, including Staples Center, LA Live, the Historic Core, Disney Music Hall, Olvera Street, Union Station (connected by the Expo Line, only a few blocks away), Little Tokyo, Koreatown, and the Theater, Jewelry, Fashion, Flower and Financial Districts.
The campus itself is also less than 40 minutes away from the Los Angeles International Airport.
Facilities
The Doheny Campus opened in 1962 and is comprised of a number of historic mansions and structures centered on Chester Place, one of the most famous West Adams Historic District addresses. Central to the campus is the Doheny Mansion, a circa-1900 landmark that has appeared in numerous motion pictures and television series throughout the years. Today, the Doheny Mansion is used for events, administration and other campus highlights. Additionally, the Doheny Library is a jewel of educational architecture, custom tailored to provide the resources and environment needed to help facilitate studies, collaboration, and research.
Faculty
Mount Saint Mary’s has 20 faculty members, including Executives in Residence, Instructors and Assistant Professors, dedicated to the MBA program. Most professors possess advanced academic degrees. Executives in Residence participate in panel discussions, guest lectures and case studies. There are currently 118 full-time and 315 part-time undergraduate faculty members at Mount Saint Mary’s.
Student Body
There are roughly 50 students currently enrolled in the MBA program. Across all of the MSMU graduate offerings, there are 542 full-time students and 168 part-time students. In total, including undergraduate programs, there are 3,554 students at MSMU.
MBA Degree Offerings
Mount Saint Mary’s offers a Weekend MBA for working professionals with concentrations in project management, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
