F.W. Olin School Professor to Lead Entrepreneurship Educators
A professor at Babson College – F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business is the new president of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
“I am honored to have been elected by my colleagues to serve in this important role for an organization dedicated to the advancement of entrepreneurship education,” Heidi Neck said in the F.W. Olin School’s press release about her new role. “The progressive leadership of USASBE demonstrates a commitment to not only best practice but also future possibilities.”
USASBE is an independent, professional academic organization that supports the development of entrepreneurship educators.
Neck is the F.W. Olin School’s Jeffry A. Timmons Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies and faculty director of the Symposia for Entrepreneurship Educators.
Neck has previously received awards from USASBE and the Academy of Management, as well as Babson, according to the school’s press release. She speaks internationally and consults on entrepreneurship. She is also an entrepreneur herself: Neck co-owns the companies FlowDog and VentureBlocks.
“We couldn’t be more excited about Heidi Neck being elected,” said Patrick Snyder, executive director of USASBE. “She has earned a tremendous reputation both nationally and internationally. News of her nomination was met by USASBE leadership with a resounding, ‘YES!’ Her amazing grasp of soft skills and entrepreneurship education make her the perfect person to lead our board.”
Neck’s new leadership role is only the latest recognition of the F.W. Olin School’s excellence in entrepreneurship education. Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine recently recognized both undergraduate and graduate entrepreneurship programs at Babson.
