P&G Expert Will Speak on Open Innovation and Collaboration in Product Development
The Boston Business Journal will host an interactive session with Procter & Gamble’s Open Innovation Manager for Global Business Development, Lital Asher-Dotan, on Tuesday, June 25. Asher-Dotan, who BBJ designated as one of its “2013 Women to Watch,” will discuss P&G’s Open Innovation approach to business. The event will take place from 7:30 to 10am at MCLE, Inc., 10 Winter Place, Boston, MA 02108.
Simply put, Open Innovation involves collaborative ventures between smaller companies and P&G as opposed to the acquisition and merger approach commonly implemented when small companies work with large, established brands. P&G applied this Open Innovation strategy to many of its commercially successful products, including Swiffer, Olay, Febreze, and Duracell, the success of which all attest to the value of collaboration.
The event offers an excellent opportunity for Boston professionals in product development or management functions to come together. From 7:30 to 8:30am, event attendees will have time to register and network with one another. Asher-Dotan’s presentation will begin at 8:30am with time for a Q&A from 9:30 to 10am. Online registration for the event can be found here.
Product management is a common function for MBA graduates, requiring a blend of management, marketing and entrepreneurial abilities.
