UT Dallas Named Among “Best Colleges for Your Money”
The University of Texas at Dallas – Naveen Jindal School of Management has, once again, been named among the top schools in the nation by Money Magazine’s ranking of “Best Colleges for Your Money”.
Money Magazine’s recent ranking looked at public universities throughout the U.S., ranking UT Dallas the 37th best value in American higher education. The university is just one of three Texas institutions in the top 100 — including Texas A&M University and UT Austin — and one of five Texas universities in the top 100 list including both public and private schools. On another of the magazine’s lists, “50 Best Colleges You Can Actually Get Into,” UT Dallas placed 32nd.
The magazine’s findings are consistent with other national rankings of the university, e.g., UT Dallas was ranked 33rd in a list of best values for public universities in Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine.
Money Magazine considered twenty-four different factors while creating the ranking, which evaluated 705 schools. Some of these factors included affordability measures, alumni success (such as post-graduate income) and graduation rates. The ranking also utilized data from the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard, such as the percentage of a school’s graduates who say that they are working “meaningful” jobs after graduation.
“We are very pleased that the tremendous value that UT Dallas offers to Texas families and their students has been recognized by yet another objective national survey, said Dr. Hobson Wildenthal, UT Dallas president ad interim. “These accolades are tributes to the entire UT Dallas community. We are grateful to our friends and supporters who have helped make these achievements possible.”
