Locations

Wharton’s full-time program’s main campus is in the University City area of Philadelphia, west and south of the Schuylkill River. Wharton’s MBA for Executives Program also maintains a campus in San Francisco.

The main campus is located less than 10 miles away from the Philadelphia International Airport.

Wharton also maintains educational partnerships in Beijing with the Penn Wharton China Center, along with exchange programs with INSEAD in France, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi.

Facilities

The majority of Wharton’s Penn campus is located between Walnut and Spruce Streets to the north and south, and 36th and 38th Streets to the east and west. Wharton’s primary building is Jon M. Huntsman Hall, which was completed in 2002 and offers students 320,000 square feet of dedicated space for their educational needs. Huntsman Hall’s resources include 48 classrooms, 57 study group rooms, four teaching labs, two study lounges, two social lounges, a forum especially designed for the school’s undergraduate program, a 300-seat auditorium and additional meeting rooms and event spaces.

With the opening of Huntsman Hall, some of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania’s original or older buildings were converted to serve the school in different ways. Vance, Steinberg and Dietrich Halls now serve as office space for administrators as well as housing classrooms, additional conference facilities and professors’ offices.

Students enrolled in the Wharton/Lauder joint MBA/MA program focusing on international business will take several classes in Lauder-Fischer Hall, which also shares offices and common spaces.

EMBA students will most likely spend a fair amount of their time in the Steinberg Conference Center, which is where the Aresty Institute of Executive Education is located. The Center includes residential facilities in addition to class and conference rooms, and offers its guests access to a gym, dining room and lounge.

Faculty

Wharton has 240-plus faculty on staff, with 140 female members, and 116 born outside of the U.S. These full-time, part-time and adjunct professors are further divided into ten departments: Accounting, Business Economics and Public Policy, Finance, Health Care Management, Legal Studies and Business Ethics, Management, Marketing, Operations and Information Management, Real Estate, and Statistics. In addition to teaching students, these faculty members also support and contribute to the school’s 20 research centers.

Student Body

There are 856 full-time MBA students enrolled in the Wharton Class of 2021, 15 Carey JD/MBA students, 67 students in the Lauder MBA/MA in International Studies program, and 78 students in the Wharton Health Care Management program.
