Babson Offers Open Enrollment Program on Buying Small Businesses
The F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College is offering a new online open enrollment program this fall called “Buying a Small Business Online.” The course aims to help investment seeking entrepreneurs learn the challenges of and steps to buying a small business. Among other things, the course will discuss planning an aquisistion of a small business, financing the purchase, and negotiating terms with the business’ owners.
The program starts on October 7, 2013, and lasts for four weeks. It is roughly ten hours long. “Buying a Small Business Online” consists of weekly online class sessions, self-scheduled activities, and discussions with other course participants. The cost of this program is $999.
The program will be led by Professor Kevin Mulvaney, who teaches in the MBA program at the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business. He teaches the courses “Buying a Small Business” and “M&A for Entrepreneurs” at Babson College. He has bought and sold businesses himself, and his students at Babson often graduate having already bought companies. Outside of the classroom, Professor Mulvaney is the president of Strategic Advisors Group, a consulting firm for business owners and CEOs, and the former president of DRI/McGraw-Hill.
