Kelley School of Business – Indiana University - Global MBA
Kelley-Manchester Global MBA Program Structure
The University of Indiana Kelley School of Business offers a joint, two year Global MBA with the the Alliance Manchester Business School (MBS). Students in the program earn two separate MBA degrees, while studying four-to-six days per semester face-to-face. Not all classes are in person, however, with half of the courses delivered online.
After a six-day orientation, held in late July, the first semester features six days at the Kelley School of Business Bloomington campus, while the second semester features six days at any of the six Alliance MBS global centers, of which include: Dubai; Hong Kong; Manchester; São Paulo; Shanghai; and Singapore. The third semester is almost entirely online, in addition to a a five-day public policy course elective in Washington DC. The fourth and final semester features six more days at any of the aforementioned Alliance MBS global centers.
Curriculum
Elective options in the two-year program include the aforementioned Washington DC public policy five-day retreat, strategic project organizing, entrepreneurship and innovation management, negotiation skills, information systems and digital strategy, investment portfolio management, and venture capital & private equity.
Electives begin in the second term, with the first term dedicated to core coursework on the Bloomington campus and online. A simulation project stretches from the first to the second term, leading into elective coursework and residencies at one of the six Alliance MBS global centers. However, not all required core courses are completed within the first year, with online courses like Financial Management and Strategic Management and Business Planning held at the beginning of the third term. In the final leg of the fourth term, students complete an online Live Business Project, which is taught by faculty of both schools.
