Queens University of Charlotte MBA Program Structure
Students of the Queens University of Charlotte MBA program can take courses on-campus, online, or switch between modalities.
Curriculum
The Queens University of Charlotte MBA includes 36 credit-hours of foundation, core, and elective courses. The curriculum emphasizes leadership, the interaction of the functional areas of business within today’s global business environment and reflects the highest standards of ethical and social responsibility. The emphasis on leadership is integrated throughout the curriculum and allows you to explore and develop leadership abilities so you can oversee large-scale initiatives in finance, marketing, organizational development, and any other functional area of business critical to the success of your organization.
Foundation courses are designed to provide students with an understanding of accounting, finance, and statistics and may be waived on a case-by-case basis. These are offered in a hybrid online/on-campus format.
Core courses include leadership development, managerial accounting, economics for managers, marketing management, business analytics, managerial finance, and strategic planning & implementation. Students also choose three out of four options for flexible core courses, which include organizational behavior, managing in a global context, operations management, and management of information systems.
The program offers many electives to choose from. Students must choose two electives but can take three in a specific concentration area to earn a concentration.
Concentrations include finance, healthcare management, leadership & change, and executive coaching.
Class Profile
There are currently 119 Queens MBA students that are, on average, 32-years old. The majority of students in the program are male at 56.3 percent, with 43.7 percent female students. About 1 percent of the class is of international status, with around 39 percent of the class among underrepresented U.S. minorities.
The undergraduate GPA of the class is 3.0 and the average work experience prior to enrollment is about 113 months.
Tuition, Scholarships, and Financial Aid
Tuition for the Queens MBA program is currently $41,940-$45,435, depending on whether a student chooses to pursue a concentration.
Admissions
What needs to be included in an application:
• A complete graduate application
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
• One admissions essay
• Two letters of academic or professional reference
• Resume outlining academic and professional background and recognitions, honors and awards
• Official GMAT/GRE scores (you may be eligible for a waiver)
In order to be eligible for a GMAT/GRE waiver, applicants must fit the following criteria:
• At least seven years of full-time relevant work experience
• OR at least three years of full-time relevant work experience and an undergraduate GPA above 3.0, specifically in quantitative courses
• OR a professional certification such as a CPA or CFP
• OR a relevant master’s, Ph.D., or terminal degree such as a JD or MD
There is no application fee for the program.
Applications are accepted for spring, summer, and fall terms. Semester start dates occur in January, May, and August with application deadlines occurring a few weeks prior to start.
