Babson Provost Named Chair of the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative’s Board of Trustees
Dennis Hanno, the Provost of Babson College, has been appointed Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative (GRLI) Foundation. Hanno is the first North American Chair of the GRLI. Hanno’s appointment was effective as of January 1, 2014.
GRLI is an organization that brings business schools and companies together to create strategies to develop a new generation of responsible business leaders. The group aims to transform business education so that future leaders ensure the long-term sustainability of business, communities, and the environment.
“The GRLI is one of the world’s leading organizations for driving the change in management education that is needed to develop a new generation of responsible leaders,” says Hanno. “It brings together top thought leaders from both business and academia to drive this change, and I’m honored to be able to lead the Board in setting the agenda for the GRLI’s activities. My goal is to involve even more constituents in this important work and increase the impact of the many great initiatives already underway.”
Hanno was recently named one of BostInno’s 50 on Fire for revolutionizing business education and playing a significant part in the Boston and Babson communities. In addition to serving as Babson’s provost, Dennis Hanno is also the senior vice president of the college, the President’s Endowed Professor of Accounting, and the executive director of the Babson-Rwanda Entrepreneurship Center (BREC). Hanno is an active contributor to the United Nations Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME) movement, writing for many of its forums and publications.
