Mason Facilitates Executive Education Demand in China
The George Mason University School of Management’s Executive Education team has been able to capitalize on the demand of companies and government agencies from China who are seeking high-impact executive education programs for their management teams.
Over the past year, Mason has focused on business development efforts in the Chinese market and expanding programs for Chinese organizations from two to thirty. The School of Management has served more than 700 executive education participants from China this year alone.Specifically, programs with a focus on higher education have been in demand. Beijing Normal University and Fujian Ministry of Education are two of the clients who send local ministry of education board members, university presidents and deans to learn at Mason.
Other popular programs include corporate strategic management and leadership, corporate social responsibility, finance and economics and executive education programs, including a Health Administration Management Program and China Agriculture. Participants included managers and leaders from Southern Industries Corporation, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China’s District Planting Service Center, Bureau of Agriculture, County Agricultural Service Center, and the Agribusiness Group Co.
“George Mason is an attractive executive education partner because we offer multidisciplinary programs,” says Roy Hinton, associate dean of executive education. “We draw faculty from a very wide range within Mason and outside the area.
One alumnus from Southern Industries Corporation said, “Studying at Mason was such a wonderful learning experience. The School of Management provided a very well designed and professional program; faculty were delightful, witty, active and very good at engaging the group.”
