Babson Hosts Energy and Environmental Conference

On Thursday, March 27, the Energy and Environmental Club at Babson College will host the Babson Energy and Environmental Conference: Fifteen Shades of Green. The conference aims to break the myth that sustainability is a cost center, and it will examine how sustainability and energy efficiency have become an important part of growing the top line in every industry.

The conference will feature many different events. President of Babson College Kerry Healey and Babson Senior Fellow in Social Innovation Mark Donohue will deliver the opening remarks. The conference will feature panel discussions on several topics, including “Future of Financing for Renewable Energy Products,” “The Reality of Electric Vehicles,” “Challenges and Opportunities in Green Buildings,” “Water in the Developing World: Harsh Reality and Inspiring Innovations,” “Food Packaging: Cost vs. the Environment,” and “Environmental Awareness in Developing Countries.” The conference will include two keynote speeches, given by Jigar Shah, the Founder of SunEdison, and Doug Foy, the President and CEO of Serrafix, President and CEO of the Conservation Law Foundation, and Former Secretary of Commonwealth Development. The conference will also include a networking lunch and a networking reception and community expo.

The conference speakers include Lynnette McIntire, the CEO of Silver Birch Communications; Craig Scott, the Manager of Product Planning for Toyota Motor Sales; John Warner, the President, CTO, and Founder of Warner Babcock Institute for Green Chemistry, LLC; Dallase Scott, the Manager of Sustainability Services for GreenerU; Alexander Sarly, the SolarCityManager for Product Planning at Toyota Motor Sales; and Dan Gainsboro, the President of Genesis Planners, Inc.
