Anisfield School of Business – Ramapo College of New Jersey

History

Ramapo College of New Jersey, a public liberal arts and professional studies university in Mahwah, New Jersey, was founded in 1969 in response to a growing population in Bergen County. The AACSB-accredited business school was originally established in 1979, officially changing its name to the Anisfield School of Business in 2006. Along with its five undergraduate majors and minors, Anisfield offers an Accelerated MBA Program for Working Professionals, which graduated its first class of MBA recipients in 2014.

Location

Ramapo is located in Mahwah, New Jersey, in the northeast corner of the state. The campus itself is located immediately off of Interstate Highway 287, making it accessible to a broad geographical range of commuters. Just a few miles to the northwest are the Ramapo Mountains, situated in the Palisades Interstate Park, which provide a picturesque background to the campus. New York City is located just over an hour away both by car and public transportation.

Facilities

The Ramapo College campus totals more than 300 acres with approximately 2,000,000 in building square footage. The Anisfield School Building, which opened in 2007, houses the MBA program. The building includes state-of-the-art classrooms, teaching computer labs, and conference facilities.

Faculty

The Anisfield School of Business features over 40 faculty members. The instructors’ range of specialties and interests include corporate finance, financial accounting, and international business.

Student Body

While the entirety of Ramapo College contains just over 6,000 students between its graduate and undergraduate programs, the MBA program at Anisfield School of Business has a maximum of 35 students in every cohort. The cohort is the program’s equivalent of a class year, in which students become familiar with one another through extensive collaborative work and learning. Members of a cohort will all progress through the program at the same pace and graduate at the same time.

MBA Degree Offerings

The Anisfield School of Business offers a 20-month, part-time accelerated MBA for working professionals. The program focuses on leadership, experiential learning, critical thinking, and international business, and its course offerings reflect this.

The Accelerated MBA also includes a mandatory nine-day trip to China for an immersive experience in international business. The trip aims to educate students on the challenges of intercultural business exchange and the ways in which the business world reflects and shapes cultures.
