History
The Eugene W. Stetson School of Business and Economics, founded in 1984, is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). It is the business school of Mercer University, which was originally founded in 1833.
Location(s)
Mercer University has four campus locations for business students. The University’s main campus is located in the city of Macon. Macon has a population of approximately 90,000, and serves as a hub for Central Georgia. The Cecil B. Day Graduate and Professional Campus in Atlanta houses the Stetson School of Business and Economics. Mercer also offers campuses located at the Douglas County Regional Academic Center, and the Henry County Regional Academic Center.
Facilities
Cecil B. Day Graduate and Professional Campus is made up of 200 acres containing eight main academic buildings. Students have access to facilities such as the Swilley Library, computer labs, the Sheffield Student Center, rooms reserved for meeting or studying, and health and counseling services. The Stetson School of Business is housed in a contemporary building comprised of classrooms, faculty offices and facilities for their students. The school has campus-wide wireless Internet available to all students.
Faculty
The Stetson School of Business and Economics employs 72 total faculty members, which includes both full-time and adjunct professors. These professors conduct classes on various aspects of business including marketing, finance, economics, general business, human resources, and healthcare management. Professors at Stetson generally have extensive work experience in their fields, bringing added texture to the program curriculum. Many members of the faculty are still active as consultants in the professional business world.
Student Body
Stetson typically enrolls over 430 graduate students across all of its programs. Recently, 189 students graduated with a Stetson MBA, with 133 students graduating from the Atlanta campus. The average age of full-time MBA student is 26-years old with three or more years of work experience.
MBA Degree Offerings
Mercer’s Stetson School of Business and Economics offers multiple MBA programs across its Atlanta and Macon campuses as well as online. Students can earn an MBA in full-time, evening, online and professional programs. Additionally, Mercer’s Stetson School of Business and Economics offers dual MBAs with the following degrees: Master of Accounting, Master of Divinity, Doctor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Physical Therapy and Juris Doctor. There is also a Navicent Health MBA intended for those who are working in management positions within the healthcare industry.
