The Texas Southern Executive MBA program at the Jesse H. Jones School of Business is offered for mid-career professionals exclusively online. Students can choose from an Energy Finance track or a General Business track. The program takes two years to complete.

Curriculum

The Texas Southern Executive MBA Program at the Jesse H. Jones School of Business is offered for mid-career professionals exclusively online. Students follow a lock-step cohort structure of the program. Students in the program typically participate in two classes (six credit hours) per semester for six semesters. Those in the energy track will take nine core and three specialized courses, while those in the general track will take 12 courses covering general business topics. The program takes two years to complete. Students follow a lock-step cohort structure of the program.

The University uses Blackboard Academic Suites as the Learning Management System for this online program. These learning management systems include virtual classrooms, live chats, online lectures, online discussions, and teleconferencing.

Careers

Students enrolled in the Texas Southern Executive MBA program are typically employed already in the business management sector and are being prepared to excel in their careers through leadership and management training. Students who elect to complete the Energy Finance concentration are prepared for a management position in the energy sector.

Tuition, Scholarships, and Financial Aid

The Texas Southern Executive MBA is $36,000. This is divided into $6,000 per term. Tuition covers the costs of books, course materials and more.

Federal financial assistance is available for those who qualify. Federal assistance includes federal loans and grants. The Jones School of Business also accepts personal loans and financing.

Admissions

Admission for the online EMBA program requires a minimum of five years of significant management experience and a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited university or college. In order to be considered for admission, prospective students must submit a completed application and all supporting documents. Supporting documents necessary for applications include official transcripts from undergraduate work, a two-page personal statement, two letters of recommendation and a current resume, along with a one-time $50 application fee. GMAT scores will be waived in place of significant professional working experience. The Jesse H. Jones School of Business reviews all applications for admission.

Non-native English speaking international applicants must also submit an affidavit of support, transcripts, and either a TOEFL score of 79 for the online test, 550 on the paper test, or 213 on the computer test.
