Masters in Major Program Management

This is a part-time program for senior executives. The program can be completed in only two years, while giving students the ability to continue their full-time employment.

The program consists of eight courses that are each taught for four days as well as assignments and a dissertation. Each course begins on a Tuesday and concludes on a Friday.

The program is designed to help executives develop the knowledge and ability to oversee large-scale projects.

Curriculum

Students must complete the following courses: designing and managing successful programs, major program risk, commercial leadership, systems engineering, governance and stakeholder management, research methods, managing performance, and globalization, and major programs.

Students are also required to complete a dissertation to graduate from the course. The dissertation gives students the opportunity build research and an argument on a question that they have interest in studying in-depth.. The dissertation will be 10,000 words long.

The MSc is formally assessed by eight individual assignments (one for each class required) and a written dissertation.

Class Profile

Those entering the program are advised to have a minimum of seven years professional work experience, but most have more. There are at least 26 nationalities represented in the current class, with around 27 percent female students. The average class size is around 55. The average age of the most recent class was 41.

Tuition, Scholarships, and Financial Aid

The full cost of the 2020-22 Oxford University Masters in Major Program Management program is £45,000. This cost includes tuition, lunch, refreshments and one college dinner per course and membership to an Oxford college for two years.

Students are expected to pay for their own transportation, accommodations and text requirements.
The University requires all students to provide a Financial Declaration that shows they have the necessary financial means to finish the program.. Students must provide this when they are accepted into the program.

There are two available scholarships for women for the incoming class, both of which reduce tuition and fees by 50 percent.
