JHU Carey CityLab MBA Team Working to Develop Historic Home in Downtown Baltimore
According to an article on the Hub, MADE: In America, a nonprofit organization that supports American industry, is working with five local universities, including the CityLab team from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, to transform the Carroll Mansion, a historic home in downtown Baltimore, into the “All American House.” The exhibit’s mission is to boost the profile of the historic, Revolution-era home by showcasing American manufacturers, many of which are from the greater Baltimore area. Business Athlete Panel Set to Speak During Smith School Business Summit
According to a press release on the school website, The Robert H. Smith School of Business’s Center for Leadership, Innovation, and Change is sponsoring a panel on the “Business Athletes” leadership model at the Smith School Business Summit on Nov. 13. Students and alumni are invited to RSVP for the event.
The all-women panel will feature Smith Senior Associate Dean Joyce Russell and an assortment of business leaders explaining how great athletes are sometime analogous with great business leaders. Continue reading…
New Restaurant Tip Calculator App Launched by Carey Business School MBA Candidate
Full Society is the future of the restaurant going experience. The app — which is headed by Carey Business School MBA candidate Paige Cantlin — allows diners to instantly pay, split and tip directly from their web capable mobile phones. And the cherry on top? At the end of payment, users are encouraged to donate to a local nonprofit that works to solve hunger.
According to an article on The Hub, Cantlin recently launched a beta version of the app to select restaurants in Baltimore with more to follow. One restaurant, Woodberry Kitchen, is also stakeholder in the company. Continue reading…
REGISTER: NFL’s Michelle McKenna-Doyle Set to Give Lecture at Sellinger This Thursday
Michelle R. McKenna-Doyle, senior vice president and chief information officer of the National Football League, will be speaking at the Sellinger School of Business and Management on on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015. The lecture will take place in McGuire Hall on Loyola’s Evergreen Campus at 6:30PM.
McKenna-Doyle oversees the NFL’s technology strategy, shared service delivery, and management of the league’s corporate and football technology. She also serves as executive sponsor of the league’s Women’s Interactive Network (WIN) and as a member of the diversity council. She was named a 2014 “Game Changer” by Sports Business Journal. Johns Hopkins Pres. Daniels Presented with Exceptional Leadership Award and $500K Grant
According to Johns Hopkins news blog The Hub, JHU President Ronald Daniels has been named one of the Carnegie Corporation’s Academic Leadership Award winners. As part of the award, a $500,000 grant will be given to the university.
“I am deeply honored to be recognized among the esteemed recipients of this award,” Daniels said. “It is exciting to have the innovative work by our faculty and staff and Johns Hopkins’ commitment to Baltimore recognized by the Carnegie Corporation, a great champion of higher education.” Continue reading…
