BC Students Compete in $1 Million Social Enterprise Comp.

A team of graduate students from Boston College joined together for the annual Hult Prize Foundation $1 Million Social Enterprise Competition. Five BC students from the Carroll School of Management, the Lynch School of Education, and the School of Social Work worked together to compete for the prize. The competition works to identify and launch the most compelling social business ideas to tackle serious social issues that affect millions of people.

The BC team competed in five cities around the world for a chance to secure $1 million in start-up funding to launch a sustainable social venture. The team created the idea of a low-cost, scalable solution to distribute cloth tote bags, which they named DialogBag, combined with community-based training sessions. The DialogBag would double as a play mat to be used for educational games that promote the necessary and essential adult-child interactions.

BC Hosts Evening MBA Info Panel

Boston College Carroll School of Management will be hosting an information panel for its Evening MBA program. The event will be held March 31. The event will feature current Evening MBA students in a moderated Q&A session. The event will be held from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. at the BC campus. Those interested in attending the event can complete a registration form online.

The information panel events are designed to provide essential information about student life at Boston College. The events are held in Fulton Hall, the home of the Carroll School of Management. During the event, prospective Evening MBA students will have the opportunity to hear first-hand from current students about the program and what life is like as a BC student.

Next App Deadline for BC FT MBA March 15

The next application deadline for the Full-Time MBA program at Boston College Carroll School of Management is March 15. Those who complete the online application and supply all supporting documents by this time will receive an admissions decision by May 1, 2015. This is the third round of application deadlines for the Full-Time MBA at BC. The final application deadline is April 15.

Applicants for admission to the MBA program at BC are required to hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and have at least two years of professional work experience. The application form for the Full-Time MBA program can be completed online. In addition to the online application form, those seeking admission to BC must also provide several supporting documents to complete their application.

BC Hosts MBA Information Reception

The Boston College Carroll School of Management will be hosting an MBA information reception for prospective students. The event will be held Feb. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Boston College Club. During the event, attendants will have the opportunity to learn more about the MBA program at BC from alumni, current students and graduate programs staff.

The Full-Time MBA program at BC is a two-year program that combines sequenced courses with experiential learning. Students collaborate with their peers to develop business plans and consulting services as well as form a solid base of networking for their professional careers. During the first semester of the program, students work in team to learn the methods of design thinking and how to apply that thinking to real-world corporate citizenship programs. Each student team works with a corporation to design a social or environmental program that the company is interested in pursuing.

BC Hosts FT MBA Class Visit

The Office of Graduate Management Admissions at Boston College Carroll School of Management will be hosting a class visit for its Full-Time MBA program. The class visit will be held Jan. 27 from 1:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the Boston College campus. During this class visit, attendants will visit a Marketing Research class. Prospective students will be able to experience what it means to be a student in the MBA program at BC first hand and meet with current students and get more information on the Full-Time MBA program.

The Full-Time MBA program at BC is a two-year program that combines sequenced courses with experiential learning. Students collaborate with their peers to develop business plans and consulting services as well as form a solid base of networking for their professional careers. BC Creates eBook for Evening MBA

The Admissions team at the Boston College Carroll School of Management has created an eBook for students interested in the evening MBA program. Prospective students can download this eBook for free. The eBook outlines questions that the admissions team feels that prospective students should ask when considering an evening MBA program.

Some of the topics discussed in the eBook are how to tell your employer your plan to attend school while continuing to work and what to look for in a MBA program. The eBook also outlines what prospective students should ask admissions offices before applying to any program for an MBA degree.
