BU Holds MBA Information Session
The Boston University Graduate School of Management will be holding an information session Jan. 28. The event is for both its two-year full-time MBA and professional evening MBA programs. The information session will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Boston University campus. During the event, prospective students will have the opportunity to learn more about the programs and admissions process, as well as have any questions about the program answered by a current student or an alumni.
The curriculum for both the Full-Time and Professional Evening MBA programs are composed of 64 credits. These credits come from 34 credits of core courses and 30 credits of elective courses. Core courses provide students with a solid foundation in accounting, finance, information systems, marketing, operations, organizational behavior and strategy.
BU Holds EMBA Online Information Session
Boston University’s Graduate School of Management will be hosting an upcoming online information session. This information session is for the Executive MBA program offered at BU. The event will be held Jan. 21. It will be held from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. The webinar is designed to provide prospective students with an overview of the program.
The Executive MBA program at Boston University School of Management is an accelerated program that allows students to earn an MBA degree in 18 months. The program is divided in around five modules. The modules are bracketed by four residential weeks. Classes for the program meet on alternating Fridays and Saturdays at the BU School of Management.
BU App Deadline Jan. 7
The second application deadline for August entry date for the Two-Year MBA, MS-MBA and the Professional Evening MBA programs at Boston University School of Management is Jan. 7, 2015. Admissions decisions will be made for the Two-Year and MS-MBA programs by March 6. An admissions decision will be made for the Professional Evening MBA program by Feb. 6.
To be considered for an admissions decision, applications must be completed entirely by the date of the deadline. In order to complete the application applicants must complete the online application form, pay the $125 application fee, complete two required essays, submit resume and two letters of recommendation and provide official university-level transcripts and GMAT/GRE scores.

The second round of application deadlines for the two-year MBA, MS-MBA and Evening Professional MBA programs at the Boston University Graduate School of Management is approaching. The second application deadline for these programs is Jan. 7, 2015. Those who complete applications by this date will receive an admissions decision by March 6, 2015 for the two-year and MS-MBA programs and Feb. 6, 2015 for the Professional Evening MBA program.
The two-year MBA program at Boston University is a full-time program that offers an opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the School of Management and MBA student life, and to hone and expand current business management skill sets. The program is an interactive learning experience taught in a cohort format, which focuses on the dynamics of global business.
BU Ranked No. 28 by Forbes
Forbes magazine has ranked Boston University no. 28 on its 2014 most entrepreneurial universities list. According to the magazine, BU is considered one of the top start-up schools in the United States.
Forbes based its ranking of the nation’s most entrepreneurial research universities on an “entrepreneurial ratio,” pitting the number of alumni and students who have identified themselves as founders and business owners on LinkedIn against the school’s total student body (undergraduate and graduate combined).
BU Prof Confirms Position at US Dept. of Labor
Boston University Graduate School of Management Professor David Weil has been confirmed as the administrator of the US Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division. Weil will be responsible for enforcing laws designed to protect the nation’s workers.
In his new role, Weil will oversee a division that ensures American workers are adequately compensated for the work they do by being paid the minimum wage and required overtime compensation. The division also protects responsible employers from competition with companies that do not comply with federal wage and hour requirements by enforcing the Fair Labor Standards Act, which is also responsible for regulating child labor.
