New Stanford Program Promotes Innovation for Healthcare Execs

In a partnership that is the first of its kind, Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) will team with the Stanford School of Medicine (SOM) for a program designed to promote innovation among healthcare executives.

The Innovative Healthcare Leader: From Design Thinking to Personal Leadership will take place in May 2016 over one week. It is open to physicians, non-physician executives, and policymakers.

Veteran’s Day: Getting Your MBA After the Military

The prospect of going to business school for your MBA after leaving the military can be daunting. The military and university classes do not seem to have a strong connection. However, that’s not the case. Most MBA programs place a strong emphasis on leadership, and for military personnel, that’s a well-understood concept. In an article for the Military Times, Mary Lea McAnally, the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs at A&M’s Mays Business School, stressed that for veterans, who are already well schooled in leadership, “this transition is not going to be as hard as you think,” Mary said. “What they’ve done in the military is so applicable to business school—and business when they graduate.” Continue reading…

Tips for Tackling the “Why Do You Want an MBA?” Application Essay Question

You’ve put the time in studying for the GMAT, you’ve narrowed your list of schools, you’ve identified your recommenders and asked them to write letters on your behalf. There’s no more putting it off. Ted Rogers School MBA Ranks as Top 100 in The Economist

For the first time, the MBA program at Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University ranked in the top 100 leading full-time MBA programs according to The Economist. The Ted Rogers MBA program placed 92nd overall and among the top six Canadian programs. The Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago placed first, with the Darden School of Business and Tuck School of Business coming in second and third. Continue reading…
