George Mason School of Business and College of Education Set to Launch Executive Chief Learning Officer Program

George Mason University’s School of Business and the College of Education and Human Development has announced its new Executive Chief Learning Officer program, making Mason one of a handful of colleges to offer a program dedicated to the quickly expanding role of the chief learning officer in the business world. What’s a chief learning officer?

Roy Hinton, the business school’s associate dean of executive education, called them C-suite members who are “focused on the development of human capital.” Continue reading…

Columbia Student Shares MBA Experience

Columbia Business School student Linda Chew recently shared the top five things that she has learned in business school with The Globe and Mail, a Toronto based publication. Chew, originally from Vancouver, enrolled in the two-year, full-time MBA program at Columbia. She completed the MBA program at Columbia this May.

Chew started her business career at Deloitte LLp. She has worked at the Toronto and Vancouver offices. She most recently has worked in mergers and acquisitions with the company. She is a chartered accountant and a Chartered Financial Analysis charter holder. She has contributed to The Globe and Mail over the course of her MBA program education. How to Create a Competitive Admissions Application

Students decide to enroll in an MBA program for multiple reasons. Some students seek the knowledge needed to progress their careers, while others look to gain the skills to build a successful new business. Whatever the reason, the process begins with doing the proper research to find out which program is best for the student. The Economist says, “Finding the right school is not just about looking at rankings, or choosing one considered as “prestigious.” The key to making the right choice is, understanding why you want to take an MBA, and what you expect it to do for you.”

Wherever you start your search, the last step will be to complete the application process for the program or programs you choose. The application process varies by schools but typically includes completing the actual program application, the submission of required documents, such as GMAT scores and undergraduate transcripts, letters of recommendation, a copy of their professional resume and often, a statement of purpose and sometimes an admissions interview.

The Business Man Behind Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, President Jeffrey Anderson

Behind every great business school is a great businessman (or woman, obviously). At the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, that man is Jeffrey J. Anderson, the 5th President and CEO in LFGSM’s history. In this role, Anderson utilizes his extensive business and academic experience to manage the School’s operations and lead its developmental outlook.
