Students from 22 Nationalities Welcomed to Cass Business School’s EMBA Programme
Cass Business School, part of City University London, welcomed its newest cohort to the Cass Executive MBA Programme (EMBA) with a four-day induction programme in the Dubai International Financial Centre.
This year’s cohort is made up of students from 22 different countries-of-origin. The induction program commenced with team-building and professional development workshops run by prominent speakers, which preceded a special address from Edward Hobart, Her Majesty’s Consul General to Dubai.

Social Media Week London comes to Cass
Cass Business School is running two master classes as part of its Social Media Week (#SMWCass) from September 22-26.
Industry experts from the Square Mile and Tech City will give advice to entrepreneurs on how they can use social media to drive business growth.
The day will begin with a breakfast session titled ‘Forging Lasting Relationships with your Audience.’ The breakfast session will focus on how start-ups and SMEs can use social media to enhance engagement and forge lasting relationships with target audiences. This event lecture is ideal for people entrepreneurs who have recently set-up or run a thriving business and want to learn how to utilise social media to communicate with their audience.

Cass Dubai Hosts South African Business Delegation
Cass Business School in Dubai hosted 46 senior South African executives in association with Wits Business School for their ‘International Executive Development Programme’.
Held at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), in the heart of the city’s business district, the event aimed to spread awareness of the city as a growing economy and hub of international financial activity.
Conrad Viedge, International Executive Development Programme Director at Wits Business School, said: “The presentations gave a deep insight into Dubai and rest of the UAE, and this was a real eye opener for South Africans. They highlighted the rapid growth of Dubai through the business orientation of the government which creates a virtuous circle for the economy.”

Cass Executive MBA Students Create Real Business Solutions in Chile
Chile, one of Latin America’s fastest growing economies, hosted Executive MBA students from Cass Business School for the school’s annual International Consulting Week.
More than 50 students traveled to Santiago, where they helped companies solve real business challenges.
This is the first time Cass has held its consultancy week in Chile, where a stable economy and government support for entrepreneurs have transformed it into a hot bed for new ventures.
“For International Consulting Week, our aim is to challenge MBAs to deliver real value for their clients. The stakes are high – client companies expect a lot – and their expectations are frequently significantly exceeded,” says Dr. Sionade Robinson, MBA Associate Dean.
Students applied their classroom skills to business challenges affecting 14 companies, ranging from start-ups specialising in health and technology to entrepreneurs and multinationals serving Chile’s mining and dairy industries.

Cass Entrepreneurship Fund Backs Alum’s Wine Business
The Cass Entrepreneurship Fund, Cass Business School‘s £10m in-house venture fund, has completed its latest investment into a promising growth business.
Humble Grape, a growing wine merchant and events business founded by Cass MBA alumnus James Dawson, raised over £450,000 from the Entrepreneurship Fund and the Seedrs equity crowdfunding platform.
The funding will be used to develop a new retail space and expand the existing business, which services a variety of high-profile clients with wine events and merchant services. Continue reading…
