The nation is rebounding pretty well from the last recession and positive employment rates support that notion. According to Crain’s Chicago Business, the Windy City’s economy is charging ahead, especially in the professional and business services sector.

Liautaud Part-Time MBA Jumps In Latest Rankings
In a stunning improvement over last year’s list, UIC Liautaud’s Part-Time MBA program was ranked #78 by U.S. News & World Report’s 2017 Graduate School Rankings. According to a press release on the UIC website, this was an impressive jump of more than 30 spots from the 2016 rankings.

Meet Anna Lisa Somera — an alumni of the Liautaud Graduate School of Business. She holds an MBA/MPH, which she earned in 2006. After earning a BS Biology and Anthropology and a MS Cellular Biology from Loyola University and Rush University, respectively, and entering into a career in Biotechnology, Somera decided to switch things up and pursue a graduate business degree. GWSB MBA Ranked by U.S. News & World Report
Out of more than 450 accredited MBA programs, the George Washington University School of Business (GWSB) MBA (Full-time) program came in ranked 51st in the 2017 U.S. News & World Report rankings. This was a seven spot improvement from last year’s rankings for the GWSB MBA. The U.S. News & World Report full-time rankings are derived from the collective results of a survey of business school deans and MBA program directors.

Chicago is huge — really huge. The city has the third largest gross metropolitan product in the United States and was named the fourth most important business center in the world in the MasterCard Worldwide Centers of Commerce Index. And with such a booming economy comes an impressive workforce. The Chicago Metro contains the third largest labor pool in the United States with about 4.48 million workers, as of 2014.
